
What are some of the hottest trends for this season?
‘Less is More’ Keep your complexion glowing naturally for a fresh, natural look, rather conceal dull, blotchy skin. There’s a lot of gold mixed with dark shades like brown and burgundy this season. But it should be nicely blended. Another hot trend is the using half lashes. ( Lip color is highly dependant on one’s skin color. )
When should a bride and her mom and gals come in for a trial?
I suggest booking your trial 5-10 months in advance for availability for your date and time. Especially if you are having a larger bridal party or getting married during peak season (April-November). Feel free to bring tear sheets from magazines, of makeup you like and don't like, ( A picture of your wedding dress. Is it romantic? Dramatic? Elegant? This gives me a great idea of the style of the dress and the wedding.)
How about natural products, do you work with those?
I use primarily MAC makeup. I have some other products in my kit that I like such as Clinique, Benefit, Chanel, Bare Mineral and other . I have found through years that MAC's makeup goes on very light and natural looking
What looks work best for photos?
It depends where will you take the photos: if you are doing studio photos under bright studio lighting, then the makeup should be a little more heavier then what you would wear in your daily activities, otherwise it won’t show on photos. (Light takes away large amount of makeup)But, for natural lighting (which most wedding photography is), a lot of makeup is not needed. Generally, a matt finish look will be the best for photos.
How much in advance of the wedding should a bride book with you?
Brides typically book their wedding date 3-6 months in advance. It is strongly recommended that you book as soon as possible to secure your wedding date.
